One of my favourite parts of this campaign is getting to meet Hamiltonians where they already are – in our neighbourhoods, at community events, and on streets filled with creativity and conversation.

A heartfelt thank you to @retrocodylaughsCody Chenier of Roast Therapy for inviting me to speak during Art Crawl about why I’m running for Mayor and the future I believe we can build together.

Hamilton’s Art Crawl has become one of the city’s defining cultural events, transforming James Street North each month into a celebration of local artists, musicians, performers, galleries, restaurants, and small businesses. It’s a reminder that our arts community isn’t just entertainment – it’s part of the economic and cultural heartbeat of Hamilton.

As Mayor, I will champion Hamilton’s artists, musicians, actors, comedians, writers, makers, and cultural organizations. Creative industries generate jobs, attract visitors, support local businesses, and make our city a place where people want to live, work, and invest. We need to ensure that artists can afford to create here and that independent theatres, comedy venues, galleries, festivals, and performance spaces continue to thrive.

I believe leadership begins by listening. By showing up. By having real conversations about affordability, housing, public safety, local businesses, accessibility, and the future we want for our city.

This campaign isn’t about one person, it’s about all of us. Every conversation, every question, and every new connection brings us one step closer to building a Hamilton that is more affordable, more transparent, more creative, and more connected.
