The NDP may not respect strippers as workers, but they are workers worthy of safety, dignity, and equality while working. Sex Work is work. No politician should disparage workers, full stop.
Marit should have focused on the Skills Development Fund and the related public malfeasance. Marit should not have weaponized stigma by using pejorative and disparaging language about strippers and strip clubs when the real issue was management misusing public dollars.
Sex work is commerce and beneficial to the economy. They are working class people. Stand in solidarity with ALL workers.
