Justice doesn’t end when an election begins.

Today I received notice that my case against CityHousing Hamilton – the @cityofhamilton’s social housing corporation – will continue before the Landlord and Tenant Board this October. After multiple appearances, the Board has now designated the hearing as “peremptory on the landlord.” In Ontario, this means the Board expects the landlord to be fully prepared to proceed on the scheduled date and is signalling that further delays will not be readily accommodated. It’s an important procedural step toward finally having the matter heard on its merits.

This case has never been about me alone. It has always been about accountability, fairness, and ensuring that public housing providers are held to the same standards they expect of their tenants. No one should have to spend years fighting simply to have their concerns properly heard.

That belief is also at the heart of my campaign for Mayor. Hamilton deserves public institutions that are transparent, accountable, and respect.

I’ll continue standing up for those principles in the hearing room and on the campaign trail. Real leadership means being willing to challenge powerful institutions, insist on fairness, and never stop advocating for the people of Hamilton.
