Today I had the honour of dropping off a campaign flyer and pinback button to Christopher.

What started as a quick campaign stop became a much deeper conversation about homelessness, shelters, housing waitlists, dignity, and what it takes to survive systems that often leave people feeling unheard.

Christopher shared some of his experiences navigating homelessness before finally getting housed. Even after being placed on a high-priority housing list, he still waited over a year.

That should make all of us pause.

No one should have to fight that hard for stability. No one should be treated as disposable because they are poor, older, disabled, unhoused, or struggling.

These conversations are exactly why I’m running. Hamilton needs leadership that listens directly to people who have lived through the systems we keep debating from a distance.

Housing is not just policy. It is safety. It is health. It is dignity. It is the foundation people need to rebuild their lives.
