It was a pleasure dropping off a campaign flyer and handmade button to Danie McKay (@daniemckay13) today.

Danie works in the tech sector and originally entered the field believing technology could bring people together, bridge divides, and strengthen communities. Like so many people, she’s become increasingly concerned about the direction our society has taken. Becoming a parent later in life only deepened her commitment to building a better Hamilton for the next generation.

She told me something that really stuck with me: raising a child in the @cityofhamilton “really wakes you up to what’s going on.”

Danie has been following my advocacy since my work with @SWAPHamilton and the battles over transparency and accountability at City Hall. She believes Hamilton needs leadership with grit—someone willing to stand up for residents instead of protecting political insiders or personal interests.

I’m incredibly grateful for her encouragement and support. Campaigns like ours are built one conversation at a time, and every person who believes Hamilton can do better reminds me why we’re fighting for a city that works for everyone.
