Thankful to have met with the Say NO to 337 Gage Ave Minor Variance organizers today!

One of the neighbours let me inside their house (immediately behind the building) so we could show you exactly what HUPEG calls a “courtyard” is actually an alleyway. If converted to a courtyard, it would annihilate privacy for the family living next door.

Additionally, the only access from the building to the alleyway space is from the double doors which is the boiler room. The proposal doesn’t seem feasible nor well-thought out.

I also remarked at how little the public notice sign was: posted not facing Gage street but a side street. The one photo shows how it is illegible from the sidewalk to the average person. This was designed to go unnoticed. @cityofhamilton
