Lucky Lion Night Market – August 2, 2026

Last night, I had the joy of canvassing at the Lucky Lion Night Market Hamilton at Bayfront Park

The park was full of life! Families, friends, incredible food, music, culture and so many people willing to stop and have a real conversation about the future of Hamilton.

Julia Park and Linh Vu, thank you from the bottom of my heart for inviting me onto the stage and giving me the opportunity to speak to the audience about my campaign for Mayor of the City of Hamilton and the platform we are building together. Being trusted with that space meant so much to me.

I spoke about a Hamilton where housing is treated as a human right, tenants are protected, community safety begins with care and prevention, the arts are properly valued, and City Hall is accountable, accessible and transparent.

This campaign does not belong to political insiders or a powerful machine. It is genuinely grassroots. It is being built by volunteers, community members, small acts of generosity and conversations with people who want something better for this city. Every person who takes a flyer, shares a story, introduces me to a neighbour or offers me a place to speak is helping us build it.

A huge thank-you as well to the Hong Luck Kung Fu Club – 康樂武舘  for the Mario-themed Lion Dance performance. It was beautiful. The artistry, energy and joy you brought to the crowd were unforgettable.

Last night reminded me that Hamilton’s strength is its people and the many cultures and communities that make this city what it is. When we make room for one another, listen to one another and work together, there are so many reasons to be hopeful.

Hamilton can be a city that truly belongs to all of us. And together, we are building that future.
