I spent part of today canvassing at the 50th anniversary of the 2026 Festival of Friends, talking with Hamiltonians, listening to their concerns, sharing some laughs, and hearing what they hope for from this city.
I am deeply grateful to Sangyé Chöga Martin, Marcelo Cipriani, and Rae Lockdust for coming out and canvassing alongside me. This campaign would not exist without people who believe enough in what we are building to give their time, energy, and care. This is a genuinely grassroots campaign. It is being built one conversation, one doorstep, one shared post, and one volunteer shift at a time. It is not about political insiders telling Hamilton what it needs. It is about listening to the people who live here and building something together. Will you join the team?
I am running for Mayor because housing should be treated as a human right. Tenants deserve real protection. Every neighbourhood deserves fair investment. Community safety should be rooted in care and prevention. Arts and culture should be valued, and City Hall should be accessible, transparent, and accountable to the people it serves.
The Festival of Friends reminds us what the City of Hamilton can be: creative, welcoming, joyful, and full of people who care about one another.
There is so much work ahead of us, but days like today leave me hopeful. Hamilton is ready for leadership that listens, shows up, and believes that nobody should be left behind.
