A Note of Appreciation for Kate & The Hammer – July 29, 2026

I was truly grateful to sit down with Kate from The Hammer and have an open, thoughtful conversation at the Lemon and Ice about the City of Hamilton, the people who make this city what it is, and why I am running for mayor.

The Hammer has grown from a local Facebook page launched in 2015 into an independent community platform focused on Hamilton’s stories, events and local businesses. It meant a great deal to have the opportunity to share my experiences, my values and my vision with someone who cares deeply about this city.

My campaign is rooted in listening, honesty and real conversations-not rehearsed talking points or politics as usual. Every conversation helps me better understand what Hamiltonians value and what they expect from the person entrusted to lead this city.

Thank you, Kate, for your time, your curiosity and the space to speak openly. I left our conversation feeling encouraged, energized and even more committed to building a Hamilton where residents are heard, public institutions are accountable and leadership is grounded in integrity.

This campaign belongs to the people of Hamilton, and I am grateful for every opportunity to sit down, listen and share why I believe a different kind of leadership is possible.
