I blew the whistle, and I stand by the truth.
The City’s public report does not tell the complete story. I am the person who made the report to Hamilton’s Auditor General via the IntegrityCounts portal. That disclosure was recognized as a qualifying whistleblower disclosure, prompted an independent investigation and ultimately led to an audit identifying significant, recurring and systemic weaknesses in the City’s HR-investigation process.
I stand by my firsthand account that my disclosure set this chain of accountability in motion, including the subsequent dismissals of senior HR officials Lora Fontana and Jodi Koch from the @cityofhamilton.
This is what integrity looks like: telling the truth when silence would be easier, challenging powerful institutions when they expect compliance and continuing even when the consequences become personal.
I am running for Mayor of Hamilton because residents deserve a leader who cannot be bought, bullied or intimidated into silence. My trustworthiness is not a campaign slogan. It is demonstrated by my actions.
CityHousing Hamilton and the systems surrounding it will not silence me, erase my experience or prevent me from demanding accountability. No publicly funded institution is above scrutiny, and no resident should be oppressed for speaking out.
As mayor, I will protect whistleblowers, demand fair and independent investigations, strengthen oversight and ensure that public institutions answer to the people they serve.
Integrity means acting when it costs you something. I have already proven that I will.
