As Pride Month comes to a close, I’m thinking about how Pride has always been more than a celebration – it’s a movement rooted in resistance, courage, and the ongoing fight for equality. From the history that shaped our rights to the political choices that continue to define our future, Pride reminds us that progress is never guaranteed.

Here in Hamilton, our community has shown that change happens when people stand together, speak up, and refuse to be invisible. As June ends, the work doesn’t. Here’s to honouring those who came before us, supporting those still fighting today, and building a future where everyone belongs.
