Before you share, check the context and fact-check.

A viral clip of me holding a sock puppet has been widely circulated with claims that I “require it to speak” or that it reflects how I behave during public appearances. Those claims are false.

According to an AFP Fact Check the video was taken during a comedy show where performers including Rae Lockdust used sock puppets as part of the Uncloseted Comedy event. The full footage shows other participants using puppets as well, and videos from my campaign appearances show me speaking normally without one.

Context matters. Cropped and decontextualized clips with misleading captions can completely change the meaning of a video.

Always verify before you amplify.
