When I was young, Sailor Moon taught me something that politics often forgets:

No one saves the world alone.

The Sailor Guardians weren’t powerful because they were perfect. They were powerful because they stood together. They brought different strengths, different experiences, different perspectives, and chose to fight for one another anyway.

At its heart, Sailor Moon is a story about friendship, courage, compassion, and believing that ordinary people can create extraordinary change when they work together. The series has long been celebrated for its themes of friendship, empowerment, and collective strength.

As Hamilton heads into another election, I keep thinking about that lesson.

A better city isn’t built by a Mayor alone. It’s built by neighbours who care about each other. By people who choose hope over cynicism. By residents who refuse to believe that things have to stay the way they are.

Many of us grew up believing that if something was wrong, someone else would fix it. But community begins when we realize that *we* are the someone we’ve been waiting for.

So this is your reminder: your voice matters. Your vote matters. Your ideas matter. Your dreams matter.

The future of Hamilton isn’t written by politicians. It’s written by the people who show up for each other.
